Wireless internet access is spreading through Owen Sound.
Councillor Arlene Wright says she’s very happy with the success of their 19 WiFi hot spots.
She says last summer there were several tourists asking about wireless internet, and they’ve increased the number of hot spots since then.
Wright says there are quite a few downtown, including at City Hall and the public library.
But she points out they have hot spots in other points of the city — like Kelso Beach and Harrison Park.
Wright says Owen Sound needs to keep up with modern technology, as it is helpful to business and tourism.
Wright says those who come camping at Harrison Park can keep in touch with their family, friends, and work.
