The Ontario election results was disappointing the NDP candidate in Huron Bruce.
Grant Robertson finished a distant third behind Progressive Conservative Lisa Thompson — who upset Liberal Carol Mitchell to become the new MPP.
Robertson says he can take pride in the clean campaign he ran and the hard work he put into the race.
He says there was a lot of mud slinging in the local campaign, but he’s happy to say none was flung by him.
Robertson does worry however that another Liberal government will mean that rural Ontario will be without a strong voice.
He urges PC candidate victor Lisa Thompson to be that strong voice.
Robertson also thanks outgoing Liberal incumbent Carol Mitchell for her many years of service to the riding.
Robertson says while Huron Bruce may not be ready to sport NDP just orange yet — he says the winds of change are coming.
He predicts that another term with this Liberal government will translate into more NDP votes at the next election.
Whether or not Robertson will throw his hat into the political ring again remains to be seen — he says he needs time to recoup and re-evaluate the situation.
But Robertson says he will remain involved with community groups.
