The Women’s House serving Bruce and Grey could use your help.
That’s the message Community and Fund Development coordinator Shannon Drainville brought to the Port Elgin Rotary club recently.
Drainville says the Kincardine facility is usually filled to capacity and sometimes over-capacity and it’s put a strain on the simple things like toiletries that we take for granted.
The home is set for 13 women and children at a time but often they exceed that number.
Drainville says as a result their resources dwindle quite quickly.
She says they’re looking for things such as shampoo and soap for kids, along with
women’s body wash and deodorant.
Any donations for the Women’s House will be gratefully accepted.
Meanwhile, plans continue for their annual gala fundraiser on October 22nd.
Drainville says this year’s theme is All That Jazz Gala featuring the music of Charlie Bell and his group.
Drainville says a 75 dollar ticket will get you a fine dinner with jazz entertainment and a chance to win a trip to Chicago for the famous Jazz Festival there.
The dinner is being held at the Best Western Governor’s Inn in Kincardine.

Last year over 22 thousand dollars was raised at the gala and they hope to surpass that this year.
