Blood donor clinics are vital to so many people — but community sponsorship of these blood drives is equally important.
At a blood donor clinic in Owen Sound on Wednesday — Canadian Blood Services Community Development Coordinator Sue Nash presented awards to a pair of local partners.
Plaques were given to Bayshore Broadcasting General Manager Ross Kentner and Owen Sound Scotiabank Manager Bob Beaver.
Nash says the team at Bayshore deserves recognition for the work they do in getting the word out about blood donor clinics across the region.
She says media partners are crucial to ensuring these clinics are a success.
Ross Kentner says Bayshore Broadcasting has long been a media partner of Canadian Blood Services…and calls it an honour to be recognized for helping out such an important cause.
Bob Beaver says Scotiabank has a national partnership with Canadian Blood Services — and says employees at the local branch are passionate about the cause.
Beaver notes one blood donation can save up to three lives, so getting out and giving blood is well worth it.
Nash adds you can find out about blood donor clinics in your area through their website at www.Blood.ca — or call 1-888-TO DONATE.
