Attendance at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre this year to the end of August is about the same as last year but down a bit.
What caught the interest of museum director Barb Ribey was the summer months attendance.
She reported to Bruce county council recently that July, which is normally a busy month, was down while August, which is normally a slow month, was up.
Ribey says four thousand admissions came through the door in July while that number ballooned to 54 hundred in August.
She says they keep tabs on the weather during those months as well.
There were no significant rain-days in July so people were more interested in outdoor activities.
Ribey admits she’s hoping for some rainy days each summer because it builds attendance.
She says on a rainy day they have had over 900 people visit the museum.
Year to date, ending August 31st, some 12 thousand paid admissions have visited the museum.
That number was 13 thousand last year.
