The 14th annual Bruce Area Solid Waste Recycling Food Drive was a huge success.
Over the past two weeks — 57 hundred pounds of assorted food was collected during their curbside pick-up.
BASWR are thrilled that those in need in Bruce County won’t go hungry over the Thanksgiving holiday.
The food was delivered to The Salvation Army in Wiarton who will distribute the food to the various food banks within BASWR’s service area.
That includes Arran Elderslie, Saugeen Shores, Huron Kinloss, South Bruce, South Bruce Peninsula, Brockton and Kincardine.
Last year approximately 8,320 pounds of donated food items were collected thru the program.
