Bruce Grey Owen Sound Libertarian Candidate Jay Miller is on a mission to find out what people in the riding are concerned about.
Miller retired to the Meaford area a year ago, saw problems with the current government — and decided to try and fix it.
From what he’s heard so far, Miller says people are concerned about local issues such as jail closures, wind turbines and the mega quarry.
He says people feel that the decision making power has been stripped from municipal government, and they want it back.
On that note — Miller says he would repeal the Green Energy Act, bringing more autonomy back to the municipal level for issues like wind and solar projects.
He tells Bayshore Broadcasting News that Ontarian’s need more choice when it comes to health care, rather than a one-size-fits-all system.
Miller says the Libertarian Party is focused on personal responsibility and individual initiative.
He relates he would bring lower taxes, more choice and limited government.
Miller adds he has accepted the fact that his party won’t put a premier in office this election, but he wants to start a push towards acceptance of the values of the Libertarian party.
