Owen Sound Mayor Deb Haswell says she is speaking up for the taxpayer, when she highlights the fact only the Liberals plan on uploading the cost of courtroom security.
Haswell says she is not endorsing Dalton McGuinty, but does endorse his policy of taking the cost of security off the backs of local taxpayers.
The Mayor says courtroom security is costing Owen Sound and estimated 500 thousand dollars in 2012.
The Liberals say they will start uploading that cost next year, and will take over the total cost by 2018.
Haswell says neither the Conservatives or NDP are offering the same, and she says property taxpayers in Owen Sound need relief.
Tory :eader Tim Hudak has promised to honour the billion dollars in uploaded services by the province, but has not committed to any new uploads like courtroom security.
Mayor Haswell maintains she isn’t favouring any local candidate, and is simply pointing how one party policy would affect people in Owen Sound.
