A Southgate woman is working on a Federal Liberal shadow caucus, gathering input from residents as the party tries to refocus and become more relevant.
Kimberley Love was a candidate in the Federal election May 2nd where she finished third in Bruce Grey Owen Sound.
Love recently attended the Liberal summer caucus in Ottawa and while there discussed rural issues with MPs’ and Senators.
The summer session is designed to layout party priorities heading into the upcoming session of parliament.
Love tells Bayshore Broadcasting News she has been involved since 2009 in gathering information for the party from rural residents.
She says up until recently it was an informal set-up but after the last election the “shadow caucus” was introduced as a way to keep un-held Liberal ridings in policy discussions.
It is an unpaid position and Love says she is looking at a minimum two year commitment.
Love is unclear on what her future holds in the Liberal party after that.
