If your car looks a little grubby, or your shoes need a buff — Georgian College students are more than willing to help out today.
Hundreds of students are set up in various locations throughout Owen Sound, Barrie, and Orillia today.
They are raising money for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation through Georgians annual “Shinerama”.
Shinerama is the largest national post-secondary fundraiser in Canada.
More than 35 thousand student volunteers in about 52 Canadian communities come together to wash cars, shine shoes, and seek fun ways to raise money in support of cystic fibrosis.
Shinerama students have raised almost 16 million dollars to support the fight against cystic fibrosis since the campaign began in 1964.
Co-ordinator Chelsey Carter says students will clean just about anything that needs cleaning.
They will set up car wash locations in the three cities throughout the day.
Carter says it is a fantastic experience for the students, as they get to experience raising funds for a great cause in a group setting.
All Georgian students are welcome to take part and will be excused from classes on the day of the event.
