A Riversdale mom is not about to give up her fight with the local school boards.
Holly Brindley is a mom on a mission — she is trying to convince the local school boards to relocate a bus pick up and drop off location in Riversdale along Highway 9.
Brindley tried last year — but was turned down.
Brindley says she will continue her fight with the Grey Bruce Transportation Consortium this year.
This time Brindley will have the support of the Brockton Police Service Board as well as the South Bruce OPP.
Brockton Councillor Chris Peabody cautions trustees to heed the warnings of local police and re-visit this issue.
Speed along the highway is the biggest concern.
Last week — a speed sign at the intersection clocked the average speed at 90 kilometres an hour.
One vehicle was travelling at 123 km/hr during bus pick up and drop off times.
Peabody calls this very troubling.
Brindley notes the intersection has claimed lives before and she doesn’t want it to happen again.
The mother of three is convinced that student safety is in great jeopardy every time students line up along this highway awaiting bus pick up.
Brindley wants the school boards to stop putting dollars above student safety and relocate the bus stop to a safer location.
