The New Democrat candidate in Huron Bruce says incumbent Liberal MPP Carol Mitchell is playing politics with peoples’ jobs.
Last week we told you Mitchell said Grant Robertson and PC hopeful Lisa Thompson would destroy jobs in the riding — and that Bruce Power would be a prime target.
Robertson tells Bayshore Broadcasting News he’s saddened by the tone of Mitchell’s campaign right out of the gate.
He says it’s unfortunate that any party or candidate would engage in fearmongering especially when it comes to peoples’ livelihoods.
Robertson reminds us NDP leader Andrea Horwath visited the riding in July and endorsed the multi-million dollar refurbishment of the Bruce.
Robertson says the New Democrats recognize the crucial role nuclear power plays in electrical generation but that it’s time for an intelligent conversation about future nuclear builds.
He keeps to the party line in staying above mud-slinging in the October 6th campaign.
Robertson believes Huron-Bruce voters want a rational discussion of the issues and that the NDP across the province will keep to the high-road.
