More activities are being added to the 25th anniversary celebration of Port Elgin’s Pumpkinfest.
Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce Event Co-ordinator Sally Hunt says the Plex will be a focal point for sports fans during Pumpkinfest weekend.
Hunt says memorabilia from the Hockey Hall of Fame will be on display on Saturday, October 1st all day at the Plex.
She says several trophies will be on display but didn’t name them.
She did say the Robertson Cup is scheduled to be on display courtesy of the OHL Champions, the Owen Sound Attack.
Hunt says they’re bringing back helicopter rides over the area as well.
She says it was about six years ago when the rides were offered to the public.
Hunt says plans are moving along nicely for the 25th birthday parties planned.
A kids party will be held at 6 PM at the Plex on October 1st with plenty of fun for the youngsters, followed by an age of majority dance beginning at 9 PM, featuring the musical tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
Pumpkinfest will run October 1st and 2nd this year.
