Country singer songwriter Lisa McCallum is hosting a benefit concert tonight for the Ronald McDonald House at the Queen’s Bush in Hanover.
The concert is McCallum’s way of giving back to the Ronald McDonald House which was there for her and her husband during their hour of need.
This summer, McCallum’s newborn son Cole required surgery for a bowel obstruction.
McCallum and her husband stayed at the London Ronald McDonald House during the 18 day ordeal.
She says it was so wonderful to have a place to stay, volunteers to cook you a warm meal and access to laundry facilities during a very trying time.
Cole has now made full recovery and McCallum is easing herself back into the music industry.
She has just returned from the Songwriter’s Caf in Hamilton where she performed with Patricia Conroy, Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Victoria Banks.
McCallum will be heading back to Nashville this Fall, where she will continue her songwriting career.
But before she does that — she will be in Hanover tonight to sing her heart out for the Ronald McDonald House.
Admission is free, but donations to the Ronald McDonald House are encouraged.
McCallum will also be donating 5 dollars from the sale of every CD sold.
McCallum is a native of Oakville — but spent two years living in Nashville working as a songwriter before moving to Hanover with her husband to start a family.
