Politics as usual is not working — according to Ontario Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner.
Schreiner attended a gathering at the campaign headquarters of Bruce-Grey Owen Sound Green Party Candidate Don Marshall on Thursday night in Owen Sound.
Schreiner says the old political parties are not addressing the big challenges of this generation, and he says people across the province are not happy.
He says the Green Party platform is focused on retaining and creating local jobs, cost effective green energy initiatives, and economic growth.
Schreiner adds the Bruce Power refurbishment project went way over budget, resulting in higher energy costs, and feels the money could have been better spent.
Here in Bruce-Grey Owen Sound, Don Marshall says family farms are struggling and manufacturing jobs are leaving.
Marshall notes wind turbines are a big issue in the Meaford area, and he wants municipalities to get more autonomy on things like that.
Marshall will join Schreiner and Federal Green Party Leader Elizabeth May at an event in Alliston on Friday.
Schreiner says he and May will talk about the Green Party’s opposition to the mega quarry project in that area.
