It should be a rousing all-candidates meeting in Walkerton.
Tonight is the first in a series of all-candidates events throughout the Huron Bruce riding.
Brockton Mayor David Inglis says obviously the pending closure of the Walkerton Jail will be front and centre.
Inglis says a Walkerton community group which is upset with the loss of jobs will be making their case tonight, peppering candidates on what their parties will be doing on the jail issue.
Mayor Inglis says he’ll be there and if they need his support, he’ll be glad to lend a hand.
He says the issue is important to the community and he wants to see constituents speak up.
Inglis says they continue to be frustrated by the province on obtaining facts and figures on how much the closure is going to cost.
He says it’s been a big disappointment for him in dealing with the ministry.
Tonight’s all-candidates meeting in Walkerton gets underway at 7 at the Jubilee Hall.
Liberal Carol Mitchell, Progressive Conservative Lisa Thompson, Grant Robertson of the NDP and Patrick Main of the Greens are expected to be in attendance.
