A four-bay garage has been destroyed by a fire at 363 Hunter Street in Wiarton.
Flames broke out about 9:30 AM on Wednesday — and firefighters were on the scene for about two and a half hours putting out the blaze.
71 year old Ernie Able suffered burns to his arms and hands.
He was treated and released from Wiarton hospital.
Bruce Peninsula OPP say Able was working on a vehicle in his garage, when the fire was touched off by a trouble light.
Fire Chief Dan Robinson says its’ believed one of the vehicles was leaking gas.
The building was totally destroyed and during the fire a pressurized tank, that was in the building, burst and blew out through one of the garage walls.
The nearby residences were not damaged by the flames.
Damage is pegged at 100 thousand dollars, but Chief Robinson says it could be higher.
