It’s the final weekend of the 24th annual Owen Sound Salmon Spectacular.
The second giant fish fry is being held tonight from 4 PM to 9 PM with Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch.
Thousands of people are expected to attend the fish fry under the 300 foot by 100 foot monster tent at Georgian Shores marina.
Owen Sound Mayor Deb Haswell says the 10 day fishing derby helps put the Scenic City on the map.
An estimated five thousand anglers take part in the derby and close to 60 thousand people attend one or all of the events.
Haswell notes the Salmon Spectacular also helps the local economy.
Studies have shown the 10 day fishing derby contributes between 1.1 and 1.3 million dollars to the local economy.
Haswell adds the Sydenham Sportsmen’s Club does a great job hosting the event, which has grown into a family festival.
The Salmon Spectacular ends Sunday at Noon and the awards ceremony begins at 3 PM.
