An Owen Sound woman has 100 thousand reasons to celebrate this summer.
Shannon Waite won 100 thousand dollars by matching the last six digits in Encore on a Lotto 6/49 ticket she bought back on May 28th.
She found out she had won on her way to work the next day…and says she was so excited she started crying.
Waite says she immediately called her best friend to share the good news.
She notes her three children were also excited to learn their mother was 100 thousand dollars richer…and asked when they could get a new gaming system.
Waite tells Bayshore Broadcasting News she is setting some money aside for some new furniture — and she plans to spoil her kids at Christmas.
Other than that, she says her life hasn’t changed much.
Waite says she never dreamed she would win a prize like this playing the lottery.
She adds the “quick pick” ticket was bought at Rexall Pharma Plus in Owen Sound.
