All of the police activity in Walkerton on Tuesday involved a chase for a wanted man.
Unmarked OPP units tried to block a vehicle around 4 PM Tuesday as officers attempted to arrest Dennis Wihnon.
But the 29 year old — who is wanted by West Grey Police, the OPP and Toronto Police — was able to escape the scene on foot.
Police received reports of the suspect fleeing through backyards in the Gibson Street area — and he was able to elude the OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Unit.
A short time later — Police received a report of a stolen black GMC Envoy from a Robinson Street home.
The arrest warrant continues for Dennis Jerry Wihnon — who is wanted on charges of assault, drug and firearm offences, as well as dangerous driving and failing to attend court.
He is described as being a white male, about 160 pounds, and 5 foot 10 with spiked blonde short hair and hazel eyes.
He may be sporting a goatee as well.
The accused also has tattoo markings on his middle back and right back of Chinese art and a dragon.
Dennis Wihnon also goes by several aliases — including Brian Wihnon, Dennis Cailloux and Jessie Hutchinson.
