It appears the support staff at Georgian College and Ontario’s 23 other community colleges are going to hit the picket line.
Their union — OPSEU — tells us there is little hope of avoiding a strike.
The eight thousand workers provincewide — which include cleaners, food service staff and registration officers — will be in a legal strike position tomorrow (THURS) morning.
The union says the two sides have agreed on some contract details — but not major sticking points such as job security and wages.
The bargaining chair for the colleges says his side remains hopeful that a negotiated settlement can be reached.
