The search for a new CAO for Kincardine will kick into high gear in September.
Consultant Nigel Bellchamber has made a series of suggestions to council on finding a replacement for John De Rosenroll.
Mayor Larry Kraemer says council accepted the suggestions at a meeting on Friday — and the process means a new CAO likely won’t be on the job in Kincardine until January 1st next year.
De Rosenroll left the position August 19th after almost 15 years service to the community.
He’s moving to Eastern Ontario where he will become the CAO of the town of Perth, Ontario.
Mayor Kraemer says although some advertising has already been done for a new CAO for Kincardine, that advertising will be bumped up to include trade magazines and the consultant will do some head-hunting on the phone.
A four person committee will be set up to interview applicants — with the interviews expected in October or early November.
Kraemer says by the time an offer is presented, accepted and the candidate is ready to move… it will likely be January 1st when the new CAO takes over.
For now, Clerk Donna McDougall is the Acting CAO in Kincardine, but she has told council she is not interested in taking on the job permanently.
