Under the new rules — no profit can be made directly or indirectly from the sale of alcohol for those holding reception permits.
Stag and Does fall under the new rules.
Director of Recreation and Facilities Dan Wilken says this will directly impact Brockton’s community centres and halls.
Wilken fears fewer people will have stag and does — which are a major source of revenue for these municipal facilities.
He notes the sole purpose of a Stag and Doe is to raise money.
Under the new Liquor License Act Regulations — the sale of alcohol can only be used as cost recovery.
Wilken says permit holders may seek alternatives to hosting these events at a public venue.
