Saugeen Shores is holding a public meeting about woodlands north of the Saugeen River in Southampton.
The town is near completion of a study of the area.
The land involved in the study is just north of the Saugeen River which was recently serviced with municipal sewers, and in the McCannel Lane area along the North Shore Road.
The purpose of the study is to identify properties, or areas, that contain significant woodlands that require further environmental study prior to any future development being approved.
A public meeting is set for 7 PM to 8:30 PM tonight in the Rotary Hall at the Plex in Port Elgin
It’s an opportunity for the public to learn about the field work being done, and to provide input to the consultant doing the study.
It will be an Open House style meeting with the formal presentation taking place at 7 PM.
