People in the Bruce-Grey Owen Sound riding are tired and want to see change.
That’s according to Provincial PC Candidate Bill Walker — who officially opened his brand new campaign office in Owen Sound on Tuesday.
Walker says taxes, hydro costs and wind turbines are major issues in the riding that need to be addressed.
He also wants to see more autonomy given back to municipalities, and feels there is too much wasted spending and debt.
He tells Bayshore Broadcasting News that current Bruce-Grey Owen Sound Conservative MPP Bill Murdoch is giving his full support to the campaign and helping show him the ropes.
Murdoch is set to retire and is not running in the upcoming election — and Walker says he hopes he can fill the shoes of his predecessor and be a voice for the people.
Walker says he has been planning to run for MPP for a number of years — and with Murdoch stepping down, the timing was perfect.
Walker adds they are also planning a number of fundraising events — including a BBQ in Markdale on Sunday August 21st that a pair of Conservative heavyweights will attend.
Those guests are Provincial PC Leader Tim Hudak and former Ontario Premier Bill Davis.
Walkers new headquarters are located at 810 10th Street West in Owen Sound near Little Ceasars.
