The OPP have a message for area boaters — alcohol and water don’t mix.
This comes on the heels of a Civic holiday weekend where Huronia West OPP issued 131 Provincial Offence Notices for drinking while on the water.
In 2010, 89 people died by drowning in Ontario.
In all, 39 of those deaths involved people who were found to have been intoxicated at the time of death.
