Bids will be accepted on the historic Owen Sound Golf and Country Club until September 2nd.
BDO Canada is the receiver for the course — and Senior Vice President Bill Courage says there has been a lot of inquiries about it, since the 91 year old club went into receivership on July 15th.
Courage says once the bidding closes September 2nd, they will go over the offers and he hopes they can identify a purchaser for closing in September or early October.
The major stakeholder in the operation is the Bank of Montreal which was owed over one million dollars.
Courage tells Bayshore Broadcasting News there are a number of others who are creditors that were not paid in the final weeks of the golf course operation.
He is hoping the successful bid will be enough to cover all expenses and leave some money for the golf course co-op.
Courage says if there are a couple of close bids — and one bidder wants the land for a housing development and another wants to keep the golf course going — they would contact the board of directors at the course for some direction.
