The OPP is reporting that a total of eight people died on Ontario’s roads, trails, and waterways patrolled by the force over the Civic holiday weekend.
Six of those deaths occurred on roadways, with one person dying in an ATV accident, and one person dying on the water.
Two men died in a crash near Flesherton on Friday afternoon.
Doctor Jan Raczychi of Central Huron died Sunday while diving in Tobermory.
Police across Ontario handed out 5,750 speeding tickets, 71 street racing charges, 427 seat belt charges, and 198 drunk driving charges.
117 people received roadside license suspensions across the province.
