The first annual Marine Heritage Festival is underway in Southampton.
Co-organizer Vicki Tomori says the list of activities and service groups involved is extensive.
She says the Propeller Club is holding an indoor boat show at the Annex and the Coliseum Saturday and Sunday from 12 PM to 4 PM.
On Saturday, the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is putting on the Shipwreck Dig and Kids crafts event at Pioneer Park from 1 PM to 4 PM.
You can celebrate the Chantry Island Ceremony at Pioneer Park at 2 PM and from 4 PM and 9 PM — Southampton Firefighters are putting on their Fish Fry and Beer Garden.
Tomori says to cap-off Saturday’s events, you should check out David Archibald’s Concert at the town hall at 7:30 PM.
For Sunday she’s says the list of events and activities is just as extensive — with a Jamboree from at the town hall from 2 PM to 5 PM.
There’s also a pork and beef bash from 5 PM to 8 PM at Pioneer Park.
And it all culminates with the Lantern Festival at Fairy Lake at 9 PM on Sunday.
