The municipality of Brockton has officially hired their new Fire Chief.
Michael Murphy will assume the duties effective August 15th.
Murphy has some history in the region as a current Captain with the Walkerton Fire Department for over 10 years.
Murphy is also the Interim Community Emergency Management Coordinator and Interim Fire Prevention Officer.
As you may remember back in June, we told you that former Chief Michael Rozario resigned to take on a deputy fire chief position in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
Until the announcement today, Deputy Fire Chief Glen Wilhelm was the acting Fire Chief.
