Looking for some weekend fun in the Scenic City?
The Owen Sound Animal Shelter is holding a benefit concert at Grey Roots Museum tonight from 6 PM to 10 PM.
Five local musical acts will take the stage — and shelter manager Renee Robins says each artist brings their own unique sound.
The idea for a benefit concert is that of James Skarnikat (aka Skarni), who is a long time supporter of the Owen Sound Animal Shelter.
The concert is headlined by Skarni…and also features Justin Burgess, Coco Love Alcorn, Tracy Rice and Beckon.
There will also be a number of food vendors and refreshment stands on site.
Tickets are 15 dollars person and kids are free.
Robins says proceeds go to the animal shelters “spay and neuter medical fund” to help with surgical costs.
Robins says the Owen Sound Animal Shelter has a no-kill policy — meaning they rely on adoptions — and need to perform surgeries to allow those adoptions to happen.
For that reason — Robins says the funds brought in by events such as this are critical to the animal shelter.
