It’s time to Rock the Beach in Sauble and raise money for the United Way.
The second annual Rock the Beach music festival takes place this weekend — beginning today and continuing Saturday and Sunday.
The music festival coincides with the Sunset Volleyball Festival, and it’s all in association with Sauble Beach’s 24 Weeks of Summer.
Organizer of “Rock The Beach,” Fiona Leonard, says every act is performing for free.
They will however be accepting donations for the United Way Youth Fund — which helps students pay for schooling.
Twelve Local bands and Ten GTA indie bands will be joined by headliners Ian Thornley and Big Wreck and the Cancer Bats.
Bands will rock the stage all day Saturday from 11 AM to 8 PM and again Sunday from 11 AM to 6 PM.
The Georgian Sound Big Band and the Sauble Singers open the weekend with an alcohol-free show Friday evening.
As for the Volleyball side of the festival, the Ontario Volleyball Association is hosting their annual tournament with men’s, women’s and youth divisions.
And all the money raised from the co-ed fours and co-ed sixes recreational divisions go to United Way.
There’s still spots available for the co-ed recreational and competitive divisions.
