The negotiations for the historic Owen Sound Golf and Country Club are now on hold.
The owners of Stone Tree had been trying to negotiate a deal for the club — but the volunteer board resigned on Tuesday night.
The Bank of Montreal is expected to appoint a receiver for the 91 year old club by the end of the week.
Stone Tree Director of Operations Michael Todd tells Bayshore Broadcasting News they will resume negotiations when the receiver is appointed.
He feels their initial deal collapsed after some resistance from a small group of members from Owen Sound Golf and Country.
Todd says they are still very interested in the course and trying to create a program where golfers can share memberships between the two clubs.
Stone Tree is not the only party interested in Owen Sound Golf and Country.
Bayshore Broadcasting News has learned several investors have walked the course in anticipation of negotiating a purchase with the Bank.
