You can laugh and raise money for the Rotary Club today.
The third annual Owen Sound Comedy Festival is taking place at the Roxy Theatre with two shows at 2 PM and at 7:30 PM.
Johnny Gardhouse first developed the show as a fundraiser for the Rotary Legacy Fund — and he has invited his comedian friends back for another year.
Gardhouse says the comedians love coming to Owen Sound because of the beauty of the area and because they are helping to raise money for a good cause.
The Legacy Fund supports different projects of the Rotary Club — including Camp Presqu’ile for children.
Rotarian Kenton Acton says they help children who normally wouldn’t be able to go to camp — and they love it because of the different activities they can do.
Gardhouse says they have world class entertainment for today’s shows.
He adds you would be hard pressed to find all of these talented comedians in the same room at one time.
The matinee is what Gardhouse calls “a TV friendly show” and the headliner is James Cunningham from Last Comic Standing and ‘Eat Street’ on the Food Network.
The evening show features Mike Wilmot who tours around the world — and Gardhouse says this show is for adult audience.
