Police are out with their tally of the damage from the holiday weekend, and say nine people were killed on the roads and waterways patrolled by the OPP.
Seven of those deaths were from car crashes, one involving a boat and one fatal ATV incident.
Last year’s total for the Canada Day weekend was 14, although the weekend was four days last year instead of three.
7,560 people went home from the long weekend with a ticket.
