Officials from the Bluewater public school board are no longer heading to Barrie today.
Chair Marg Gaviller and Treasurer Brenda Booth were going to meet with staff from the Ministry of Education to talk about funding.
But it appears the meeting will not likely occur until the fall now.
Ministry staff say they want time to study the board’s 199 million dollar budget for next year.
The Bluewater board had to make more than 4.3 million dollars in cuts to balance the budget — including the suspension of four tech centres.
Gaviller says they still want to air their grievances about the funding formula for rural schools and to make sure the province funds its new education initiatives.
Gaviller will be a guest on the CFOS Open Line at 9:10 AM on Wednesday July 6th.
