Drivers in Owen Sound will have to get used to one-way traffic again on 1st Avenue West.
The 800 block is going back to one-way operation now that the 9th Street Bridge replacement and reconstruction projects are completed.
1st Avenue West between 8th Street and to 9th Street will be northbound only effective this week.
This section of road was temporarily put into two-way operation in July 2010 to facilitate the construction projects.
On-street angle parking on the east side of 1st Avenue West in this block will also be reinstated today.
Public Works staff will be installing appropriate stop, directional and other traffic signage including pavement markings to reflect this change on or after July 5, 2011.
The change in traffic operation will take effect immediately upon full completion of these traffic control device changes — expected to be completed this week, weather permitting.
Owen Sound Transit buses will resume their route on this street after the change has been put into effect.
