The Hanover Legion is selling yellow ribbons to commemorate the return of our soldiers from Afghanistan in July and August.
Legion Spokesperson Nora Mae Adams says the ribbons are a great way to show our support for the troops and a provide a warm welcome home.
Over the years — the Grey Bruce region has had its share of soldiers serve in Afghanistan, and there are still some on tour now.
The yellow ribbons can be purchased for five dollars a piece at the Legion.
The town of Hanover fully supports the project.
At the request of Deputy Mayor Bob White — the town will be decorating the trees outside the Civic Centre with the golden bows.
White encourages residents to get in on the action and paint the town yellow.
It’s his hope that over the coming weeks, Hanover will be aglow with yellow ribbons.
White calls it a small gesture to show these soldiers that we truly appreciate them and support their work.
