Today is the Hottest Yard Sale Under the Sun, put on by the Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Association.
Spokesperson Carolyn Bigley says it’s their 23rd annual event, and the biggest event the DIA organizes each year.
Bigley says 2nd Avenue East will be closed to traffic from 7th street to 11th street for the day, and all of the businesses will bring their items out onto the sidewalk.
She says there will be much more than just the yard sale though.
There is a Children’s Section and performances and displays at the Market Square behind City Hall.
Bigley says they’ve expanded along the 700 block this year as well to have E-Bike and motorcycle demonstrations.
The Georgian Bay Folk Society has again sponsored the Summerfolk stage, so there will be local musicians performing from 9 AM until 3 PM.
Performers include GrassFyre, the Bearcats, Tara and Trevor MacKenzie, Moonshiner’s Daughter, The Crimson Theory, and country singer Marshall Dane.
The Hottest Yard Sale Under the Sun runs from 8 AM until 4 PM.
