There’s no snow on the ground — but the Saugeen Track and Field Club is bringing back its Reindeer Romp for Canada Day.
President Brian Hilbers says the first Reindeer Romp was held during the Olympic Torch Run, and it was highly successful.
He’s hoping people will have just as much fun this time around.
It’s an early start to the Friday holiday, with registration starting at 6:30 AM at the main beach in Port Elgin.
The race starts at 8 AM.
But Hilbers says it is just a fun run, and the total route is 8 kilometres.
He says runners will start at the beach, heading north on Harbour street to Stevens, and then heading west to join the new path on the North Shore Road.
Runners will make it up the 10th Concession, and turn around at Highway 21 and run back to the start line.
