Safe N Sound in Owen Sound is going to look at new ways to raise money.
At Tuesday’s annual general meeting — the new board talked about the shrinking amount of money available for their services.
Community Support Co-ordinator Richard Suchow says there are just too many options for people to donate funds.
He says the organization needs to be more creative in the types of fundraising events it puts on.
Suchow says they also need to show stats to the public so they can be convinced that what they are contributing is actually making a difference.
He notes while the amount of available money continues to shrink — the demand for their services increases.
When Safe N Sound opened two years ago — they would deal with five to 12 people per day.
Now Suchow says they have between 30 and 40 people per day looking for help.
The board at last night’s AGM also named Glenda Devlin and Tess Ayles-Hutt as Co Chairs for their nine member board.
