A barn fire just east of Port Elgin resulted in about 100 thousand dollars worth of damage.
Saugeen Shores Fire Chief Phil Eagleson says flames broke out around 11:30 PM on Thursday in a hobby style barn on the Salmon Side road.
Eagleson says the barn was used for chickens and turkeys, and about 100 birds were lost in the blaze.
Firefighters were on the scene for about three hours.
The cause is believed to be a heat lamp, used for baby chicks, and Eagleson says it is not suspicious.
No one was injured.
