An American documentary that examines the issues around Industrial wind turbines, will be screened in Meaford this weekend.
‘Windfall’ looks at the opponents, and supporters of the turbines in Meredith, New York.
Producer-Director Laura Israel tells Bayshore Broadcasting news the movie follows residents in 2007-2008 when they were wrestling with the proposal for 40 wind turbines in their area.
As part of the documentary, Israel goes to Tug Hill, New York where some 200 turbines have been built to see the impact on that community.
Communities throughout Grey and Bruce are facing similar issues.
Debate continues to swirl around the possible health impact on nearby residents, the impact on property values, and the impact large wind turbines have on the landscape views.
WINDFALL is being shown at the Meaford hall at 3 PM on Saturday.
Tickets are 10 dollars, and the producer-director will answer questions after the viewing, via SKYPE over the Internet.
