It’s not good news for swimmers this weekend.
High bacteria counts have been found on June 22nd at three area beaches by the Grey Bruce health unit.
In a news release — the beaches with high bacterial contamination are identified as Sauble Beach, Lions Head Beach, and Bayshore Beach in Owen Sound.
Officials say the results are consistent with the significant rainfall over the last few days.
The levels are well in excess of Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards.
However, no signs are being posted, because the samples are from a few days ago… and Manager of Health Protection, Andrew Barton says conditions have likely changed by now.
Beach information on the health unit website is updated as conditions change.
