The Bluewater District School Board has filled the vacant position of Communications Officer.
Jamie Pettit assumes the role effective on August 22nd, to coincide with the beginning of the 2011 – 2012 academic year.
A Grey County resident since 2002, Pettit makes the transition from his most recent post as Manager of the Meaford & District Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to public relations experience, he brings a varied background in local radio, community television and online media.
Petit says it is an exciting opportunity to work directly with trustees, staff, parents and other constituents as part of Bluewater District School Boards strong commitment to encourage clear and open dialogue.
Director John Bryant indicated that Jamie Petit will be an asset to Bluewater District School Board given his extensive background in communication and media.
The position will focus on a number of key areas including internal and external.
