Victims of that fire at the Around the Sound building on 6th street East in Owen Sound, will be getting some help from the United Way.
Executive Director Francesca Dobbyn says some money is still coming in — but the fundraising BBQ last Saturday helped to raise about 11 hundred dollars.
A lot of the food was donated, and people were encouraged to drop some money in a jar.
Dobbyn says 14 people were left homeless by the fire in May and they are slowly getting their lives back to normal.
The United Way considers everyone who was affected by the fire as a shareholder, so the money will be divided up 14 ways, once the final total is in this weekend.
Dobbyn says they wanted to wait a few days before cutting any checks, because last year in a similar situation they ended up writing three cheques to each tenant.
A fire on May 18th on 6th street East destroyed much of the second and third floors of the building.
