It’s a summer of discontent, for opponents of those giant wind turbines in Ontario.
Over the next few weeks, Wind Concerns Ontario President John Laforet is busy with meetings in several centres in our area.
Today, a meeting is planned for the Tara Community centre at 7 PM.
Wind Concerns Bruce is putting on the meeting which is called “The Truth about Turbines.”
On Bayshore Broadcasting News on the CFOS Open Line Wednesday — Laforet urged listeners to join him and STOP the SPIN on Industrial wind turbines.
At Noon, opponents of Wind turbines held a March in Chesley.
It was only 550 metres long, which is the distance that the government has picked for minimum set-backs for turbines from homes.
On Thursday — another meeting is being held at the Lion’s Head arena, beginning at 7 PM.
And on Saturday, Wind Concerns Ontario will be in Markdale for a 2 PM meeting at the Complex.
Laforet is spending 44 days on the road , travelling some six thousand kilometres in Ontario this spring — putting the spotlight on the issue of wind generation.
The meetings in Tara and Lion’s Head today and tomorrow will focus on the economics, effectiveness and appropriate siting of industrial wind turbines in rural Ontario.
