Walkerton is in need of a new Fire Chief.
Michael Rozario has resigned to take on a deputy fire chief position in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
In the meantime, Deputy Fire Chief Glen Wilhelm has been promoted to Acting Fire Chief while Brockton searches for a replacement.
Wilhelm says hes eager to serve in this capacity.
This is not the first time hes had the job.
He served as Acting Fire Chief for a full year in 2008 when Brockton was in a similar situation.
Wilhem says there is a strong possibility that he may throw his name in for the permanent position.
In the meantime, Wilhelm wont be able to look forward to a relaxing lazy summer as he juggles a full time job and the responsibilities of acting fire chief.
Brockton hopes to have the position filled by mid August.
Wilhem has served on the Walkerton Fire Department for 36 years.
