You can help out fire victims in Owen Sound today.
The United Way of Bruce Grey has organized a community barbeque for the 14 victims of last month’s fire that destroyed the Around the Sound Market and the eight apartments above the store.
Brad Drake of the United Way says they all face challenges trying to rebuild their lives after such a devastating loss.
The barbeque will take place today near the site of the May 18th fire in the Micro Age Parking lot on 6th Street East.
Drake says the event from 11 AM to 3 PM will feature hot dogs, hamburgers, music and face painting.
Drake says community musicians have volunteered by the dozen to perform to help these families get back on their feet financially and get resettled in new homes.
If you call the United Way’s 2-1-1 service, there is a list of items that the fire victims need.
Drake says they also hope to raise enough money to pay for their rent or help purchase items for their families.
