Investigators are combing southern Ontario to see if tornados were involved in the storm that rolled into the province this week.
Environment Canada meterologist Geoff Coulson says the team started in the Hamilton area on Wednesday and was moving north to Midwestern Ontario.
He expects the investigators will be in the North Bruce area between Port Elgin and Kincardine today, probing the damage.
There were numerous power lines down and hydro poles snapped in two by the storm in that area on Tuesday night.
Coulson says most of the damage could be down-bursts which are strong gusts of winds that come straight down from the sky — but do not actually form into a tornado.
Hydro One has been trying to restore power but afternoon thunderstorms knocked more customers off-line.
